This quilt is my daughters. I had no idea what she was getting me into when she wanted a king size quilt with a 42 piece block. It took me several months and taking breaks to work on other quilts. Plus I did stitch in the ditch long arm, which also took forever.
The twin quilt is the one I am most proud of so far. I had one extra square from my daughters quilt and I didn’t have much of the blue background fabric. I was able to make three more blocks and I had some half square triangles from the scraps of making the 42 piece blocks. So I laid it all out and did quilt math and made additional borders to make this one a twin. I did it all with the extra fabric I had left from my daughter's quilt.
I love how it turned out. I was going to do an edge to edge pattern on the long arm since I had a gift deadline that it needed to be done by. But I started playing with the pattern on the borders and did intricate free motion design. I love how it turned out. I also made the gift deadline. Whew!
I am also making quilts as housewarming gifts for some of my clients. I love making something personal for my clients.
