How to Insulate and Weatherize Your Utah Home for FREE

Updated: Nov 17, 2020

Sick of high utility bills during the winter? Can you feel every bit of wind come right through your door?  I am always cold!!! And my daughter's room above the garage is the warmest or coldest in the house.

I was super excited to find a Utah County company that is providing weatherizing services, (including attic insulation and a whole home air seal) for no out of pocket cost! Weatherization can decrease utility bills up to 30%. And we have seen a difference in our home!

Elite Energy solutions works closely with your utility companies so you don't have to pay for the work.  Elite Energy Solutions is willing to perform two services in your home and accept the Thermwise Rebate as payment in full so there is no cost to you. The best part: that the rebate goes directly to Elite, so there really are no out of pocket costs for these services.

Again, these services are:

  • Attic Insulation

  • Whole Home Air Sealing

Back yard real estate chat: During an inspection for the sale of a home, the inspector always checks insulation levels. Buyers love hearing that they home they are buying is fully insulated! So this not only helps you now, but helps during the selling process

How it works: -Their technicians run an air leakage test to see if your home is safe from carbon monoxide and can benefit from further air leakage sealing. -Depending on what they find, they will immediately begin sealing the biggest air leaks (they may further insulate your mechanical room, add door sweeps, or foam around plumbing and electrical penetrations, etc.) -If they find that your home is sealed adequately, or if it would be unsafe for them to make your home any more airtight than it currently is, they will immediately notify you of their findings. -They then check to see how much insulation is in the attic. If they find that your home is below code, they will add additional insulation so that it is up to building code or even up to current energy star levels.  -If they find that the attic insulation is up to current code, they will notify you and this again was a free inspection.  -At some point during their brief visit, their technicians will ask to grab a picture of a past gas bill for the rebate submission. -Each home needs a working carbon monoxide detector somewhere in the house by the time they leave if they end up doing the air seal portion of the work. Most homes have them, but if you need one, you can pick one up or they can install one for you for $25 -They then clean up and are on their way.  -They take care of all of the rebate paperwork and Thermwise pays them directly.
